Confusion brewing in APC as Chief Victor Giadom declares himself new acting national chairman of APC, on the basis that, the appointment of Sen. Abiola Ajumobi as the acting national chairman was an illegal and unconstitutional decision.

In defence, he stated

“That order could not be immediately effected at that time because of the temporary reprieve Adams Oshiomhole got from the court of appeal on the same day. However, having removed the temporary reprieve yesterday (Tuesday) by the court of appeal and considering the fact that we cannot allow for a vacuum, I most humbly inform you that I have assumed office as Acting national chairman of our great party in compliance with the order of the court.”

As acting national chairman, Giadom with the support of the deputy national organizing secretary. Muhammed Sani Ibrahim, declared the disqualification of Gov. Godwin Obaseki from contesting in the Edo state primaries as invalid. In line with that, he directed that all governorship aspirants of APC in Edo state should report to the national secretariat of the party in Abuja between Wednesday (Today) and Thurday (Tomorrow) for a fresh screening exercise in accordance with the constitution of the party.
