The flying operations of ExecuJet airline has been suspended indefinitely, after it flew Afro-pop artist, Naira Marley to Abuja for a concert.
The indefinite suspension was announced today by Nigeria’s minister of aviation Haidi Sirika during the daily briefing on the presidential task force on COVID-19.
According to him the flight that conveyed the music star was approved to convey a serving justice from Lagos to Abuja. He declared that the flight captain will be sanctioned for providing false information. He further said that stricter measures will be taken before granting flight approvals.
The airborne transportation of Naira Marley to Abuja was a violation of the order of Nigerian Government to temporarily suspend all commercial flights to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
The venue of the concert, Jabi Lake Mall, has also been sealed indefinitely by the Federal Capital Territory Ministerial Enforcement Task Force on COVID-19 restrictions on Sunday, for violating the government’s ban on public gathering.
