A tanker filled with about 33,000 litres of Petrol was reported to have crashed into two other vehicles when trying to avert a porthole on the road, the collision resulted in a fire outbreak because the fuel tanker spilled it’s inflammable contents, the fire was said to have lasted for hours and the incident was said to have occurred at 6.45 p.m.
The relief there is that, no life is reported to have been lost in the incident, although the vehicles were consumed in the flames.
The Sango-Ota Unit Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Akeem Ganiyu said:
“The mishaps that will have befallen the people of Lombardy area, near Oju-Ore and its environs, was averted by the personnel of state Fire Services, FRSC, TRACE and the Nigerian Police”.
In a report by NAN, it was noted that the truck which didn’t have a registration number, was bound for Oju-Ore area when the incident occurred.
