Sen. Ajimobi to serve as APC acting chairman, Oshiomhole suspended.

Following the suspension Adams Oshiomhole, which was confirmed earlier on Tuesday by the court of appeal, the National Working Union (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has named Sen. Abiola Ajimobi, who was the party’s Deputy National Chairman for the sourthern region and a former Governor of Oyo state, the acting national chairman of the party.

This was announced by the national publicity secretary of the party, Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu on Tuesday.

A statement by the party read 

“Guided by advice from the Party’s legal department in line with provisions of Section 14.2. (iii), of the Party’s constitution, the Deputy National Chairman (South), Sen. Abiola Ajimobi will serve as the Party’s Acting National Chairman. According to section 14.2. (iii), of the APC constitution, the Deputy National Chairman, North/South “Shall act as the National Chairman in the absence of the National Chairman from his zone”.”
