Ryan Wyatt, the head of YouTube’s gaming division, is leaving to become the CEO of Polygon Studios.
“Blockchain app development fascinates me, and I’m thrilled to be a member of the Web3 community,” Wyatt says.
YouTube’s head of gaming, Ryan Wyatt, announced on Tuesday that he will leave the video-sharing platform in February. Thanks to his leadership, YouTube Gaming now has over 250 million daily active users and hundreds of billions of viewing hours each year. Wyatt cited his interest in blockchain and Web3 development as the reason for his departure. He will take over as CEO of Polygon Studios in the near future.
Polygon Studios is the gaming and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) part of the same-named Ethereum layer-two scaling network.
