It has been raining in all parts of Lagos since Tuesday July 2nd, And still raining today, July 3rd of which has caused flood in most parts of the State.
The severe rain has left alot of residents trapped in their house, and unable to move around due to flood.
Houses are being flooded to mid-level heights and inconvenient for some residents to sit in their houses.
Many areas such as Aboru, Oshodi, Alapere, Lasu Ojo, Lagos island, are similarly affected, and most activities have been brought to a standstill.
Residents of Aboru said the Government has been called on for better drainage system but nothing seems to be done to it.
Mr Moses, A resident of Shoderu, at Aboru said “The Carnal here at Alábedé is a major carnal connecting different carnals from some areas. Once it starts to rain, the carnal gets filled, making it difficult for residents to go about their daily activities.”
“The rain that fell yesterday covered the newly built bridge and people coming from work, school etc, could not make it past the carnal due to flood. Even the other road is being flooded.”
Mr Razak from Temidire, at Aboru said: we’ve asked the Government for better roads and better drainage system so that even if there’s flood it would be easier for people to still go about their daily activities. But he only thing being done is always pouring stones and sands to fill the potholes of the road.”
“We hope Mr Governor will hear our plea and do us good by giving us a better drainage system and also good roads.”
Here are videos of some parts of Lagos flooded:
Some people were seen acting as ‘Ferry’ to transport people across the flood.
