The DG guaranteed the Corp members that they will also be included in whatever is being agreed on in the minimum wage negotiations.
2,762 Batch “B” Stream I Corp members, that are currently undergoing orientation at the Ogun State Camp, were addressed by the NYSC DG.
The DG warned Corp members against posting of unauthorized pictures and videos of camp activities on social media, stating that three Corp members who once did that were suspended for violating the rule. He emphasized on the importance of abiding by the camp rules and regulations.
Brigadier General Ahmed also warned the Corp members of unauthorized journeys all through their service year, that it is the duty of the scheme to make sure all Corp members get to their homes and families safe and sound, at the end of their service.
In lieu to this, the Organized Labour and the Federal Government are still bargaining the new minimum wage following the removal of fuel subsidy. The organized labour, the government as well as the organized private sector, are yet to come to an agreement on a new minimum wage even though there is progress.
